Job description

Role overview

This senior leadership position is focused on steering Yo-Chi’s operations across Australia at a time of rapid growth and national expansion. The role is accountable for operational excellence, commercial delivery, leadership development, and consistency across the venue network.

Working closely with the General Manager - Operations, you will help shape and deliver the national operations plan, guide a team of State Managers, and make sure every venue reflects the company standard in customer experience, food safety, people management, performance metrics, and brand delivery.

You will also strengthen the operating model, improve scalable systems, lift leadership capability, and collaborate with Support Office functions to support long-term business growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Define, guide, and implement the national operations plan so it supports growth, commercial targets, and brand priorities.
  • Coach, support, and develop State Managers while fostering a culture built on accountability, capability, collaboration, and care.
  • Monitor venue performance nationwide across sales, profit, labour, cost of goods, food safety, compliance, customer experience, and team engagement.
  • Own operational P&L outcomes and identify ways to improve margin, efficiency, productivity, and long-term profitability.
  • Create and embed national operating routines, reporting standards, performance measures, SOPs, playbooks, and process enhancements.
  • Work with Finance to review commercial results, forecast operational impact, manage budgets, and support decisions with data.
  • Partner across Talent, Supply Chain, Marketing, Projects, Property, Finance, and other Support Office teams to deliver business priorities.
  • Lead planning and readiness for new venue launches, ensuring smooth execution, strong team readiness, and a high-quality opening.
  • Improve venue standards, customer experience, food safety, labour optimisation, systems adoption, and operational compliance through continuous improvement.
  • Support local marketing and community engagement activity that builds brand connection and helps drive venue sales.
  • Contribute strategic insight and operational leadership within the wider Operations leadership group.

Candidate profile

  • Substantial senior operations leadership experience in QSR, hospitality, retail, or a similar multi-site, customer-facing setting.
  • Background leading large, distributed teams through State or Area leadership structures.
  • Strong commercial judgement with direct ownership of P&L performance, labour productivity, cost management, revenue growth, and profitability improvement.
  • Ability to think strategically while also executing with discipline in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.
  • Excellent people leadership skills, including developing senior operational leaders and building high-performance teams.
  • Strong knowledge of operational excellence, customer experience, compliance, food safety, labour management, and multi-site delivery.
  • Confident stakeholder manager who can influence across Support Office functions and align teams to shared goals.
  • Comfortable using data, performance reporting, budgets, and operational insights to spot opportunities and improve outcomes.
  • Flexible, practical, and energised by change, pace, complexity, and growth.
  • Prepared to travel interstate regularly to connect with teams, visit venues, and support national execution.

What’s on offer

  • The chance to lead national operations for one of Australia’s most recognised and fast-growing brands.
  • A high-profile leadership role with direct influence on performance, growth, and operational strategy.
  • Access to the exclusive Happiness Hub and support from a committed national team.
  • An opportunity to shape systems, standards, leadership capability, and the future operating model of a successful Australian business.
