About the Role
Join a dedicated team supporting national credit and collections functions for a leading food service company. The National Credit Coordinator manages credit approvals, monitors customer compliance, negotiates payment plans, and ensures timely collections for national accounts. This position operates fully remotely and requires working Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM CST.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently make credit decisions and set payment terms within authorized limits per corporate policies.
- Oversee customer account setups, ensuring proper ownership linkage and compliance with credit policies.
- Analyze financial information to establish or modify credit limits for new and existing customers.
- Maintain portfolio accuracy by managing delinquent accounts and collaborating with sales teams on financial matters.
- Resolve issues such as skipped invoices, short payments, and unapplied cash promptly.
- Create effective payment arrangements and execute collection correspondence when necessary.
- Prepare annual credit reviews and recommend credit limits according to company guidelines.
- Support regulatory compliance including Sarbanes Oxley controls.
- Coordinate with third-party collection agencies and provide documentation for uncollectible accounts.
- Contribute to credit reporting functions and participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or GED is required; associate degree or Credit Business Associate certification preferred.
- At least two years of experience in credit/collections data entry or financial account reconciliation.
- Experience using Dun & Bradstreet and other financial risk management tools.
- Proven ability to approve credit terms, manage portfolios, and collect payments effectively.
- Food service or distribution industry experience is advantageous.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel functions like pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, even under pressure.
- Ability to multitask, work independently, and provide guidance to team members on complex issues.
- Strong problem-solving skills and detail orientation.
- Competence using multiple software systems simultaneously and collaborating across departments.
Work Conditions
This position involves significant data entry requiring focused attention for up to eight hours daily. Overtime compensation is provided.
Compensation and Benefits
Annual salary is aligned to experience and education, with an expected hourly rate between $24 and $37. Benefits may include health insurance, tax-advantaged spending accounts, retirement plans, paid time off, disability coverage, employee stock purchase, and life insurance options.
