The opportunity
Linfox is looking for an experienced and commercially sharp National Business Development Manager to support growth across New Zealand. The role plays a central part in finding and winning new business, improving the company’s market position, and developing long-term customer relationships. You will shape and implement growth plans, maintain a healthy sales pipeline, and collaborate across teams to create tailored supply chain solutions that support Linfox’s wider strategy.
Key responsibilities
- Create and execute national business development plans that support Linfox’s growth priorities.
- Develop, manage, and progress a strong opportunity pipeline to win new business.
- Prepare persuasive proposals, tender responses, and commercial submissions.
- Build durable customer relationships with a focus on value and long-term partnership.
- Work with internal stakeholders to design innovative, customer-centric supply chain solutions.
- Represent Linfox in industry and market settings to strengthen brand visibility and uncover partnership opportunities.
- Support strategic planning and ongoing improvement initiatives across the business.
- Make sure all business development activity meets governance, risk, and compliance expectations.
About you
You are a seasoned business development professional with strong commercial judgement and a record of delivering growth in transport, logistics, FMCG, or a similar sector. You should bring a strategic mindset, the ability to turn plans into action, and confidence in working across complex environments.
Requirements and experience
- Substantial experience in senior business development or commercial roles with proven sustainable growth outcomes.
- Ability to think strategically and convert strategy into practical delivery.
- Strong financial, analytical, and commercial capability.
- Proven success influencing stakeholders and building trusted relationships at all levels.
- Experience leading complex tenders, proposals, and negotiations.
- Comfort working through competing priorities in complex environments.
- Good understanding of governance, compliance, and risk frameworks.
