Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage accounts within a specific market segment to achieve individual sales objectives.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of Tampa's diverse and culturally rich attractions to effectively promote the destination.
- Proactively identify and pursue new meeting and convention leads.
- Coordinate and allocate incoming RFPs to hotel partners efficiently.
- Facilitate negotiations between clients and partners to produce compelling and accurate bids.
- Confidently deliver engaging bid presentations to potential clients.
- Ensure every client and partner experiences a hospitable and inviting atmosphere.
- Utilize creativity in organizing customer familiarization trips, site visits, and various events.
- Maintain up-to-date client records, correspondence, and sales activity within the CRM system.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Hospitality, or related field from an accredited institution is preferred.
- Possess between 5 to 7 years of experience in hotel group sales, convention center sales, or destination marketing organization group business, ideally with significant exposure to the Mid-Atlantic market.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and client service abilities.
- Familiarity with presentation software and customer database management.
- Highly organized, detail-focused, and self-driven.
- Willingness to work onsite at Visit Tampa Bay’s downtown office in Tampa, Florida.
- Availability to work some evenings and weekends as required.
- Able and willing to travel up to 30% of the time to attend industry events and client meetings outside the local area.
