Job Overview
This role entails receiving, storing, inspecting, testing, transporting, and maintaining U.S. Air Force munitions, material handling equipment, and related resources at the designated site. The inspector will operate integrated combat munitions systems and ensure adherence to quality management standards including ISO 9001:2015 and the Performance Work Statement.
Key Responsibilities
- Strictly follow all U.S. Air Force and host nation safety and security regulations related to explosives and non-explosives at assigned sites and during temporary duties.
- Report any operational issues affecting munitions to the Munitions Control and Superintendent promptly.
- Take control and respond swiftly during emergencies as needed.
- Carry out all munitions tasks in compliance with quality processes, identify potential issues, and propose resolutions.
- Supervise and guide Asian and local national munitions workforce by providing clear task instructions when applicable.
- Inspect munitions and containers per technical directives and applicable manuals.
- Document all serviceability and accountability measures accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with operations staff to resolve any serviceability and accountability discrepancies found during inspections.
- Conduct inventories of warehouses, addressing any inconsistencies found.
- Support custody account management for deployed forces.
- Inspect and certify munitions casings and containers.
- Operate combat ammunition systems specific to the site’s requirements.
- Repair, replace, and recondition defective parts on munitions and containers as necessary.
- Adhere to stringent storage standards for explosive materials.
- Operate and maintain light vehicles and handling machinery including forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Use and maintain a range of equipment such as electronic test tools, metal strapping, stencil machines, and pneumatic paint guns.
- Perform light maintenance on facilities and equipment along with cleaning duties.
- Conduct safety briefings related to general and explosives handling.
- Work flexible hours including stand-by duties to support mission needs in diverse conditions.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance is mandatory.
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical screening and a seven-panel drug test.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- At least four years’ experience with military munitions, preferably U.S. Air Force MOS 2W0X1 or equivalent.
- Experience with USAF munitions storage, control, maintenance, and inspection methods is preferred.
- Familiarity with TICMS, CAS, MC2, TMRS and IMDS systems is advantageous.
- Preferred two years’ experience as a munitions inspector and possession of SEI Code 836.
- Eligibility and capacity to attend the USAF Munitions Inspector Course.
- Preferred CCAF degree in Munitions Management.
- Holds a valid home country driver’s license and can obtain a host nation license.
Physical and Other Requirements
- Capable of performing duties indoors in office and warehouse environments and outdoors as required.
- Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment according to the task.
- Physically able to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Normal color vision and depth perception are required.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
