Job description

Role overview

Monarch Investment and Management Group is seeking a Multifamily Real Estate Analyst to join its corporate asset management function in Franktown, Colorado. This onsite role sits at the company headquarters and is suited to someone who wants to do more than prepare reports — the work directly supports operating decisions, acquisition analysis, and portfolio performance across a large apartment platform.

The position is designed for an analytically minded professional who enjoys working with financial and operational data, identifying issues and opportunities, and translating analysis into practical recommendations. The analyst will partner closely with asset managers, operations leaders, and executive stakeholders to help improve results across apartment communities nationwide.

About the company

Founded in 1992, Monarch Investment and Management Group has grown into one of the country’s largest privately owned apartment owners and operators. The company manages more than 80,000 apartment homes across 25 states and is ranked as the 10th largest multifamily owner in the United States. Its focus is long-term ownership, operational excellence, and investing in employee growth and development.

What you will do

  • Review apartment property operations to spot inefficiencies and summarize findings.
  • Examine property-level financial results to identify unusual items, patterns, and trends.
  • Work through rent roll and other income-related reports and provide clear analysis.
  • Supply financial, operating, and rental-market insights that support business decisions and value creation.
  • Assess the key risks tied to investment opportunities.
  • Create procedures that help audit whether internal processes are being followed across the portfolio.
  • Evaluate existing and potential vendors to help ensure the best overall value for the company.
  • Monitor capital projects and, in some cases, take direct ownership of oversight.
  • Support due diligence activities for underwriting models tied to prospective acquisitions.
  • Review and validate due diligence materials carefully.

Candidate profile

The company is looking for someone who combines strong analytical ability with business judgment and who is eager to learn the financial and operational side of multifamily real estate. The role involves frequent collaboration, independent work, and exposure to senior leadership.

Experience and work requirements

  • Travel is expected for roughly 25% to 50% of the time across the assigned portfolio.
  • The role is not entry-level; prior exposure to analysis and business decision support is expected.
  • Success in this role requires comfort handling multiple priorities while working both independently and with teams.
  • Pre-employment screening is required and includes a criminal background check, credit check, and drug screening.

Education and qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Economics, Business, or a similar field is required.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in financial analysis, real estate, asset management, investments, or another comparable analytical role is preferred.
  • Experience in multifamily housing is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel capability is needed, including handling large datasets.
  • Background in building and interpreting financial models is expected.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills are important.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Experience with Yardi or a similar property management platform is a plus.

Compensation

The position offers an annual salary range of $70,000 to $80,000, depending on experience.

Benefits and perks

  • 401(k) retirement plan with up to $4,000 in annual company match.
  • Paid training and professional development opportunities.
  • Tuition reimbursement support.
  • Paid time off of 80 hours in year 1, 120 hours in years 2 through 4, and 160 hours after 5 years.
  • 8 paid holidays plus 2 additional paid half-day holidays or a work-anniversary day off.
  • Three-week paid sabbatical every 5 years, with a stay-bonus option available.
  • Blue Cross medical coverage starting at under $50 per month for employees.
  • Free dental insurance and basic life insurance.
  • Vision coverage and voluntary benefits for family members.
  • 20% rent discount at any Monarch community, subject to terms and conditions.
  • Employee referral bonus ranging from $500 to $1,000.
  • Discount programs with major retailers and service providers.
  • Complimentary skiing at Monarch Mountain.
