About the Role and Company
Greenlever is seeking a versatile Multi-Skilled Journalist for WPMT-TV Harrisburg, a FOX TEGNA affiliate. As part of TEGNA Inc., which operates numerous TV stations across the U.S. reaching over 100 million people monthly, this position contributes to delivering trusted local news through various platforms including digital and broadcast.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute impactful live on-site reporting during breaking news or ongoing stories.
- Generate and pursue innovative story ideas by engaging with community sources.
- Source and cultivate contacts to enhance news reporting depth and accuracy.
- Create, write, produce, and edit broadcast and online news stories within tight deadlines.
- Apply creative production methods such as graphics and new media tools to enrich storytelling.
- Leverage social media and digital technologies to research, discover, and share content.
- Contribute story ideas actively in editorial meetings.
- Produce captivating and genuine written content for diverse audiences.
Candidate Requirements
- Preferred 1 to 3 years of journalism or reporting experience.
- Excellent news judgment, communication skills, imagination, and ethical decision-making abilities.
- Competence in writing, news production, and crafting attention-grabbing teasers.
- Familiarity with ENPS, EDIUS, and Axis graphics platforms is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills to manage continuous deadlines effectively.
- Calm and effective performance under pressure in dynamic live-breaking news scenarios.
- Proven ability to create social and digital content.
- Knowledge of the Harrisburg area is considered a plus.
Additional Requirements
A valid driver's license is necessary, along with the capability to drive news gathering vehicles to various locations.
