About the Role
The Mortgage Post-Closing Specialist is part of the Mortgage Operations function and is responsible for helping keep loan files accurate, compliant, and ready for investor delivery. This role focuses on reviewing completed files, confirming that required documents are present, and assembling final loan packages. The work directly supports smooth loan purchases and overall post-closing quality.
Responsibilities
- Examine closed loan files to confirm they are accurate, complete, and aligned with company and investor rules.
- Check executed final documents such as Closing Disclosures, Notes, Deeds of Trust, and collateral records.
- Work with settlement agents, loan officers, processors, and funders to clear any post-closing issues.
- Assemble and send full loan packages to investors or lenders within the required deadlines.
- Monitor incoming trailing documents, original Notes, and collateral files.
- Make sure all closing documents are uploaded and indexed correctly in the Loan Origination System.
- Match funding and closing information to support accurate reporting and audits.
- Keep post-closing logs and tracking tools current and organized.
- Coordinate with Funding and Compliance teams to close out unresolved matters.
- Assist with audits, investor reviews, and quality control activities when needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in mortgage post-closing, shipping, or a similar operations role.
- Good knowledge of mortgage paperwork, compliance standards, and investor delivery requirements.
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
- Well-developed organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple files and priorities in a busy setting.
- Clear communication and dependable follow-up skills.
- Experience using ARIVE LOS or a comparable loan origination system is preferred.
