Job Summary
The Mortgage Branch Manager oversees daily operations of the Loan Production Office (LPO), ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and business development. This role requires over half of work hours in leadership duties, including managing staff while also promoting mortgage loan products and achieving strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of the LPO to enhance efficiency and output.
- Supervise at least two full-time LPO staff or equivalent personnel.
- Contribute to talent acquisition and separation decisions within the bank’s framework.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to staff for business growth and skill enhancement.
- Organize regular business planning and sales strategy sessions.
- Maintain an approachable environment to foster employee engagement.
- Ensure staff compliance with mandatory training and continuing education.
- Achieve a minimum of five funded mortgage units monthly according to policy.
- Develop and sustain relationships with customers, prospects, and referral sources.
- Guide clients through mortgage loan options, pricing, and payment structures for informed decisions.
- Support staff using bank-approved sales tools to expand business.
- Lead recruitment efforts to grow the LPO team and business footprint.
- Adhere to bank policies, regulatory standards, and best practices.
- Oversee loan pricing practices to maintain policy compliance.
- Promptly report any suspected fraud or unauthorized activities.
- Protect borrower personal information rigorously.
- Assist with expense, profit/loss, and overall business strategy management to boost branch success.
- Note that the manager role excludes any loan origination activities, fully complying with licensing laws including the Truth in Lending Act.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership in mortgage lending and loan production management.
- In-depth understanding of mortgage products, pricing, and regulatory guidelines.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building expertise.
- Proven ability to promote sales growth while upholding operational standards.
- Experience with mortgage software and financial assessment tools.
- Commitment to staff development and educating customers.
