Job description

Role overview

Beyond Bank Australia is seeking a Mobile Lending Specialist to cover Townsville and the wider North East Queensland region. This is a full-time position of 75 hours per fortnight and is structured as a fully flexible remote working role, based in Townsville. The remuneration offered is between $120,000 and $140,000 per year, and the package includes a company vehicle.

As one of Australia’s largest member-owned mutual banks, Beyond Bank serves more than 300,000 members nationwide. The organisation is built on community connection, trusted relationships and a strong commitment to creating better lives for members, communities and staff. It is also a Certified B Corp, recognised for meeting rigorous social and environmental standards.

The bank’s culture is guided by the principles of Member Obsession, Empowering Communities, Shared Ambition and Championing Sustainability, supported by everyday behaviours such as taking ownership, speaking up, treating others with respect, bringing strong effort, making a difference and doing the right thing in the right way.

What the role involves

In this mobile lending position, you will work across Townsville and surrounding North Queensland communities, meeting members in locations that suit them best. The role is designed for someone who enjoys being active in the field, developing local relationships and helping people reach their home ownership goals through tailored lending support.

You will act as a visible representative of Beyond Bank in the region, using a branded vehicle to connect with members across Townsville CBD, Northern Beaches, Douglas, Kirwan, Annandale and nearby areas. The job is focused on relationship-led lending conversations, business development and building the bank’s presence in the region.

Key duties

  • Grow and maintain strong local networks across Townsville and North East Queensland, including community contacts, business links and referral partners.
  • Support lending growth across Townsville and nearby regional markets, including the CBD, Northern Beaches, Kirwan, Annandale and Douglas.
  • Proactively create new opportunities across lending, insurance, wealth and business banking by staying active and visible in the market.
  • Hold consultative discussions that uncover customer goals, lifestyle needs and lending requirements.
  • Deliver lending solutions that are personalised, service-focused and designed to build long-term member relationships.
  • Contribute to the growth of Beyond Bank’s brand, reach and results across the assigned Townsville and North East Queensland area.

About you

The ideal candidate will enjoy working in the community, developing business and referral networks, and deepening relationships with both new and existing members. You should be comfortable representing the bank locally and promoting its profile through high-quality service and trusted conversations.

You will bring solid lending capability, a strong sales mindset and the ability to manage your time effectively in a broad geographic territory. A genuine interest in supporting local communities and helping members achieve meaningful financial outcomes is important in this role.

Experience and background

  • Proven business development experience, with confidence in building networks across Townsville and North East Queensland.
  • Practical home lending experience and the ability to assist members in a varied regional market.
  • Strong sales ability, combined with a member-first approach and genuine enthusiasm for helping local people achieve their goals.
  • Previous success in relationship management, referral partnerships and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Ability to lead needs-based conversations and recommend suitable lending solutions.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills for handling a mobile role across a wide region.
  • A strong commitment to contributing positively to Townsville and surrounding communities.
  • Advanced lending experience is highly desirable, along with a sound understanding of the North East Queensland market.

Team environment and support

You will join Beyond Bank’s national lending channel, a high-performing and connected team working to expand home lending and deliver strong member outcomes across Australia. Although the role offers autonomy across the region, you will receive ongoing coaching, sales leadership, support from a dedicated loan fulfilment team and assistance from a mobile coordination team for lead allocation, pipeline management and customer connection.

Benefits and workplace culture

Beyond Bank encourages applications from people who reflect the diversity of the communities it serves, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people living with disability, LGBTQIA+ people and culturally diverse community members.

The organisation is also committed to providing an accessible recruitment process and workplace. Candidates who need adjustments during the application, assessment or recruitment process, or accessibility modifications at a workplace location, can contact recruitment@beyondbank.com.au.

  • Three additional paid days to support work-life balance.
  • Paid volunteer leave for community organisations across Australia.
  • Employee discounts, wellbeing programs, and employee plus family assistance support.
  • A flexible, diverse and inclusive way of working.
  • Career growth opportunities with training and coaching.

Recruitment and employment notes

The hiring process may include a phone screening, video screening, virtual or face-to-face interviews, psychometric testing and all relevant background checks. Some roles may also include four weeks of compulsory full training.

Applicants should note that recruitment agencies are not required for this vacancy, as the process is being managed directly. Email applications will not be accepted and submissions must be made through the online application portal.
