Role Summary and Responsibilities
The role of Mine Surveyor at 3S Minerals Processors involves supervising and managing all survey work related to mining and associated projects. Responsibilities include leading survey teams in fieldwork and data gathering, preparing and updating mine layouts, sections, and records, and performing various surveys such as production, volumetric, topographical, and boundary surveys. Expertise in utilizing modern survey instruments like Total Station, DGPS, Auto Level, and drones is important. The candidate will interface closely with Mining, Planning, Geology, and Operations teams to ensure effective mine planning and execution, while adhering to statutory obligations under Mines Act, MMR, and DGMS regulations. Preparing detailed reports and verifying survey data to assist strategic decision-making also fall under this role. Maintaining timely statutory documentation is essential.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should hold a Diploma or Degree in Mining, Mine Surveying, Surveying, or a related discipline, with a mandatory MMR Certificate in Mine Surveying. Candidates must have between 8 to 12 years of pertinent experience in mining or open-cast mining survey environments. A sound understanding of mine surveying methods and statutory compliance is required, along with proficiency in AutoCAD, DGPS, Total Station, GIS, Civil 3D, and mine planning software. Strong leadership and coordination abilities, analytical skills, and experience managing teams are key attributes for success in this position.
