Job description
About the Company
Bathurst Resources is New Zealand’s biggest specialist coal mining business. Each year, the company produces more than 2.2 million tonnes of coal and employs over 550 people. Around 80% of its output is directed to steelmaking, and roughly one-third of that supports local New Zealand steel producers. Its premium thermal coal also helps power major food and dairy operations.
Maramarua Mine is an open-cut operation that supplies low-ash, low-sulphur thermal coal to the domestic market. Located in Waikato, it sits about 20 km south of Bombay in South Auckland, or around 50 km from Thames in Coromandel, giving you the option of city or coastal living.
The company is culturally diverse and places a strong emphasis on health and safety. Candidates with relevant experience are encouraged to put themselves forward.
The team values the principles of being safe, accountable, collaborative, and genuine.
