Job description

About the Role

BayCare Health System is among the major employers in the Tampa Bay region, with a broad care network that includes community hospitals, a long-term acute care facility, home health services, outpatient centers, and a large physician base. The organization emphasizes a culture centered on trust, dignity, respect, responsibility, and high-quality clinical care.

Position Summary

This role is responsible for preparing, organizing, tracking, storing, labeling, distributing, and delivering infant feedings for the NICU, postpartum, and pediatric units. The work covers mother’s own milk, pasteurized donor human milk (PDHM), formula, fortifiers, and other feeding additives. All preparation must follow sanitary standards, regulatory requirements, and facility policies, including lactation procedures and human milk handling guidelines for enteral feeding.

The position also requires strong attention to infection-control practices, accurate technical calculations, and unit conversions involving weights, measures, and metric systems. In addition, the technician operates feeding-related equipment and places supply orders needed for infant feeding preparation.

Schedule and Work Setup

This is a full-time day-shift position with working hours from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM. Weekend coverage is every other weekend. There is no on-call duty, and the role is performed fully onsite with no remote work.

Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required. A Formula/Human Milk Technician certification from an accredited program is preferred and should be completed within 12 months of hire.

Equal Opportunity

The employer states that it is an equal opportunity organization and welcomes veterans and disabled candidates.
