Role overview
The Singapore team is looking for a Middle Office Operations Analyst to support the full trade lifecycle and strengthen operational control across bookings, reconciliations, settlements, and reporting. The role also involves improving processes, building automation, and working closely with external partners and internal stakeholders to keep operations accurate, efficient, and scalable.
Key responsibilities
You will manage day-to-day middle office operations, ensure reporting accuracy, and help resolve issues that arise across trade execution through settlement. The position also requires close coordination with counterparties, custodians, and prime brokers, along with a strong focus on automation and documentation.
- Handle daily trade booking checks, position and P&L reconciliations, settlement break resolution, and corporate action processing.
- Prepare and deliver timely reports covering trades, positions, cash balances, costs, and P&L attribution.
- Coordinate operational tasks across the entire trade lifecycle, from trade initiation to final settlement.
- Work with counterparties, custodians, and prime brokers to support new business onboarding and resolve recurring daily issues.
- Spot opportunities to improve workflows and lead initiatives that increase efficiency and scalability.
- Build and deploy automated tools and workflow improvements using data management best practices and automation skills in VBA, SQL, and Python.
- Document enhancements and solutions clearly so knowledge can be shared effectively across the team.
Requirements
The ideal candidate brings middle office or operations experience from a buy-side environment or prime brokerage, along with strong market product knowledge and technical capability in Excel and scripting tools. A practical, solution-oriented mindset and clear communication style are also essential.
- 2 to 5 years of middle office or operations experience, preferably in hedge funds, proprietary trading, or prime brokerage.
- A master’s degree or MBA in Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of listed equities, ETFs, derivatives, and FX.
- Exposure to Asian securities markets and the relevant regulations is an advantage.
- Advanced Excel ability, plus hands-on use of VBA, SQL, and Python.
- Proven experience improving processes and creating automated solutions in a trading setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to fixing operational gaps.
- Ability to explain and document technical work clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences.
