Messe-Service Student Assistant at Koelnmesse

About the role

This part-time campus-friendly position places you in the middle of Cologne’s major trade fair operations at Koelnmesse. Each year, the venue hosts more than 80 fairs, exhibitions, and events, creating a fast-paced and international setting. You will support well-known clients in the trade fair hospitality area and take on service tasks across different catering stations.

What you will do

• Assist across a range of food and beverage service areas during trade fairs
• Look after buffet stations and keep them running smoothly
• Serve food and drinks in hospitality zones
• Support customers in exhibition outlets
• Prepare small snacks and pour beverages
• Keep your workspace tidy, clean, and organized
• Follow HACCP hygiene and food safety standards
• Work evening shifts for events such as trade fair parties and booth parties if you prefer nighttime work

What the employer is looking for

• You are enrolled at a university or university of applied sciences
• You are at least 18 years old
• You enjoy being in a host or service role
• Initial experience in service or the trade fair environment is an advantage
• You are flexible, dependable, and a team player
• You speak German very well; additional languages are a plus
• You present yourself neatly and have good manners
• You bring motivation and energy to the job
• You have the food safety briefing required under Section 43 of the Infection Protection Act
