About the Role

This contract role, based in Beaverton, OR, with a hybrid work option (onsite Monday to Thursday), seeks a Merchandising Buyer II specializing in Equipment and Accessories for Factory Stores. Role Overview and Responsibilities

As a Merchandising Buyer II, you will act as a consumer-focused merchant with a strong passion for product, navigating the fast-paced retail landscape. Your role centers around serving the Factory Store business by implementing strategic priorities and addressing in-season needs, applying insights from data, analytics, and leadership guidance on current and emerging market trends.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as Planning, Allocation, Lead Buying Associates, and Operations. Your duties include leveraging business reports that combine quantitative and qualitative sales, inventory, and consumer behavior metrics to guide tactical decisions that enhance business performance and consumer satisfaction. You'll translate the strategic vision into actionable plans across future and current assortments, ensuring coordination among genders, brands, and product impacts.

Additionally, you will develop expertise in multiple internal systems used to manage a profitable, brand-enhancing product portfolio, participate in quarterly seasonal assortment and buy reviews, and engage in in-season trading to optimize growth.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience and training.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in footwear or apparel buying, merchandising, product design, or retail within vertical, multi-brand, or digital environments.
  • Avid interest in current market trends with an understanding of how apparel maintains a leadership position in style.
  • Experience in Footwear, Apparel, Equipment, or similar consumer product buying and merchandising.
  • Competency with retail and digital profit metrics such as sell-through, turnover rates, average selling price (ASP), and units per transaction (UPT).
  • Ability to convert strategic concepts into executable actions effectively.

Additional Information

  • Workplace is hybrid with onsite days Monday through Thursday.
  • Reporting to the Apparel Merchandising Director.
  • Contract duration is 4 months.
