Within this diversified group, Dover Street Market Singapore seeks a diligent and proactive Merchandiser to manage product assortments, optimize inventory levels, and boost sales achievements through effective planning and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Merchandising and Retail Operations Managers to establish seasonal financial buy budgets, considering sales targets and product categories.
- Plan size scales and offer options ahead of purchases.
- Assist in selecting and quantifying product buys while maintaining meticulous records.
- Determine retail pricing per product to ensure budgeted profit margins.
- Ensure timely and precise Purchase Order preparation for each season.
- Coordinate closely with warehouse teams to guarantee stock supply matches shop floor demand, focusing on critical seasonal items.
- Identify and recommend lifestyle and fashion products suitable for various brands.
- Monitor weekly stock levels by category and product, determining fast and slow movers.
- Collaborate with management and store teams to develop action plans for pricing adjustments, merchandising, cancellations, or reorderings.
- Set weekly product category targets aligned with sales and sell-through objectives.
- Gather weekly and monthly outlet sales data to generate updated sales reports.
- Produce sales analyses for principal suppliers and for buying trips or retail comparisons.
- Deliver thorough product knowledge training to sales staff through range presentations and season visual records.
- Manage Purchase Order documentation, ensuring accuracy of product details, quantities, pricing, terms, and delivery timelines.
- Track Purchase Order progress and update management regularly.
- Communicate invoicing procedures between regional operations and warehouse billing teams to guarantee timely and accurate invoice generation.
- Resolve discrepancies involving pricing, taxes, or quantities with warehouse and regional colleagues.
- Support month-end financial closing activities and audit preparedness with appropriate documentation.
- Participate in physical stock counts for shops and warehouses as needed.
- Provide support during sales periods by analyzing stock, determining markdowns, managing documentation, and assisting with sale setup and operations.
- Ensure all point-of-sale invoices match original orders and coordinate with Accounts for payment processing.
- Manage excess inventory control, short shipments, and communicate issues with suppliers and stores.
- Handle product complaints including workmanship and customer returns.
- Create and input purchase orders into the EPR system.
- Verify order confirmations and supplier invoices, collaborating with finance for payment processing.
- Follow up with suppliers and liaise with stores to address inventory discrepancies such as damaged products or incorrect deliveries.
- Monitor consignment sales and coordinate regular stock returns to suppliers.
- Assist operational teams as required and perform any additional duties assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma or degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, Data Analytics, or similar fields.
- Minimum of three years’ experience as a Merchandiser or in a comparable role within fashion, apparel, or retail sectors.
- Strong proficiency in data management and Microsoft Excel.
- Keen attention to detail ensuring precision and quality in reporting data.
- Effective problem-solving and forecasting capabilities.
- Ability to clearly communicate complex data insights to key stakeholders.
