Role overview
This opportunity is for an organised, commercially minded Merchandiser or Junior Merchandiser to support the Children's Shoes team. The position focuses on driving performance across concession space with department store partners and is well suited to someone eager to grow their merchandising career in a busy, fast-moving setting.
What you will do
- Support the planning, forecasting, and trading of luxury and premium branded ranges to help increase sales and profit.
- Track weekly sales, stock, and intake results to spot both risks and opportunities.
- Forecast at department, brand, and line level to keep stock levels healthy, improve availability, and reduce markdowns and excess stock.
- Take ownership of core trading measures such as sell-through, margin, and stock turn.
- Work with Buying, Planning, Retail, and Supply Chain teams to keep product movement running smoothly.
- Recommend rebuys, cancellations, and RTV actions where needed.
- Suggest markdown and promotional actions to support stock clearance.
- Keep systems and reporting data accurate and up to date.
- Help prepare trade packs and performance updates for senior stakeholders, including mid-season reviews and future-season planning summaries.
Requirements
- Current experience as a Merchandiser, Junior Merchandiser, or a seasoned Assistant Merchandiser.
- A degree, or equivalent qualification, in Business, Fashion, Retail, or a similar field is preferred.
- Strong numerical ability and analytical thinking.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Well-developed organisation and time management skills.
- Ability to understand data and turn it into commercial recommendations.
- Confident communication skills and the ability to influence teams across functions.
- Strong interest in luxury/branded retail, products, and market trends.
