Role Summary
This is a full-time remote sales position for someone who can grow business for MEP and industrial fire safety solutions. The role centers on finding and qualifying prospects, meeting clients virtually or in person when required, and working with engineering colleagues to prepare technical and commercial offers that fit customer needs. It also includes managing the sales funnel, creating quotations, submitting tenders, negotiating within company policy, and keeping CRM records updated. The position requires coordination with project and technical teams after a deal is won, continued client support, and attention to repeat business and customer satisfaction. Market tracking, competitor research, and professional networking are also important parts of the job.
Responsibilities
- Source, qualify, and develop new sales opportunities for MEP and fire safety services.
- Conduct client discussions remotely and, where necessary, meet clients on site.
- Work with the engineering team to build tailored technical and commercial proposals.
- Manage quotations, tender documents, and the full sales pipeline.
- Negotiate deals in line with company standards and approval processes.
- Maintain accurate sales activity and client information in CRM systems.
- Coordinate smooth transition from sales to project delivery after contract award.
- Support existing clients and encourage repeat engagement.
- Carry out market intelligence and competitor analysis.
- Take part in relevant industry events and networking opportunities.
Requirements
- Proven ability in sales or business development within engineering or construction-related services.
- Experience with lead generation, pipeline management, and contract negotiation.
- Working knowledge of MEP systems and industrial fire protection solutions.
- Ability to read basic drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical ideas clearly.
- Comfort using CRM platforms, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, plus online collaboration tools.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work effectively in a remote setup.
- Good time management and coordination skills for working with multiple teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related discipline; comparable experience in MEP or fire protection sales is also acceptable.
- Prior sales experience with commercial, industrial, or government clients in East Africa or similar regions is beneficial.
- Understanding of international fire safety and protection standards such as NFPA is an added advantage.
