Job Overview
The MEP Incharge is responsible for managing all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing activities within high-rise building construction projects. This role requires effective planning, coordination, and supervision of installation, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and project standards.
Key Duties
- Lead the planning and execution of MEP design, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
- Align resources to meet project deadlines and budget limitations.
- Collaborate closely with civil and structural teams to integrate MEP work seamlessly.
- Review project specifications and drawings to confirm compliance with MEP requirements.
- Oversee on-site installation activities including HVAC, fire protection, electrical distribution, water supply, and drainage systems.
- Manage subcontractors, monitoring their performance to maintain safety and quality standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work quality and resolve any issues promptly.
- Engage continuously with architects, consultants, contractors, and suppliers for synchronized progress.
- Address and resolve any design conflicts between MEP systems and structural components.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities to manage permits and inspections.
- Enforce quality control procedures to meet performance benchmarks of MEP systems.
- Implement and monitor safety protocols to prevent hazards during MEP construction works.
- Supervise testing and commissioning processes to verify system functionality as per design.
- Coordinate handover processes ensuring all operational systems satisfy client requirements.
- Provide technical support and resolve engineering challenges during final project stages.
- Maintain detailed documentation including design records, installation logs, inspection reports, and as-built drawings.
- Prepare regular progress and issue reports on MEP activities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the internal MEP team enhancing their skills and resolving team conflicts.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 8 to 9 years overall experience in building construction industry.
- At least 5 years experience in supervisory or managerial roles within MEP projects.
- Strong background working with contracting firms involved in complex building projects.
- Comprehensive knowledge of MEP systems, building codes, and relevant regulations.
