Role Overview
The MEP Coordinator will manage and oversee Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems for major construction projects based in Dubai. This on-site, full-time position is responsible for integrating MEP systems with architectural and structural designs, reviewing technical drawings and specifications, and resolving any design or installation conflicts. The coordinator acts as a liaison between contractors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure seamless project coordination. Responsibilities include monitoring on-site progress, verifying adherence to project standards and local regulations, supporting quality control and testing, attending coordination meetings, updating schedules, preparing reports, and aiding in the prompt resolution of technical challenges to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated ability in coordinating multidisciplinary MEP interfaces in large-scale building or infrastructure projects.
- In-depth knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, fire protection, and plumbing networks.
- Expertise in design and installation of plumbing and building services, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and compliance with regulations.
- Proficient in Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools and processes, capable of managing 3D model reviews and clash detection.
- Preferably holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience with large civil or industrial construction projects in the Middle East or similar regions is a plus.
- Familiarity with local building codes, safety requirements, and quality assurance procedures.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills suitable for multicultural project teams.
- Proficient in design and coordination software such as AutoCAD and Revit (or comparable BIM platforms) along with Microsoft Office applications.
