Role overview
This full-time Menswear Product Manager position is based in the Manchester Area and reports to the Store Director / General Manager. The role focuses on shaping the store’s commercial identity, improving performance across the clothes, beauty/perfume and related departments, and driving sales through strong analysis, planning and in-store execution.
Commercial performance and analysis
- Review store and department sales performance regularly and adapt plans to help meet and exceed sales targets.
- Work with the Store Director / General Manager each week to define the store strategy.
- Manage store planning and layout decisions so they support trading goals and create a better customer journey.
- Coordinate with regional and national teams to roll out country-level strategies that match the local customer profile, including arranging in-store workshops.
- Use commercial tools and applications confidently, including Retail app, Merchan app, Alert exposition, ITX stock, Deliveries app and Money mapping.
- Prepare for and lead official store visits, assessing sales opportunity, sharing strategic feedback and highlighting product requirements.
- Partner with OPS Managers to align visual activity with promotions and product launches.
- Track stock levels and backstock proposals according to the weekly commercial plan.
- Monitor store product availability and inform senior management and the Spain PM when replenishment is needed.
- Schedule the Commercial Team in Orquest in line with company guidelines.
Visual merchandising strategy
- Build and execute visual merchandising plans that reflect the brand identity, market direction and commercial objectives.
- Make sure seasonal product placement on the shop floor follows the commercial calendar, company direction, seasonal trends and market demand.
- Bring forward creative presentation ideas, and manage furniture, lighting and mannequins to maintain a premium store image.
- Keep window displays to standard and suggest updates when needed.
- Stay current with fashion trends and contribute to Fashionista projects.
Team leadership and development
- Coach and develop the Commercial Team through regular feedback, reviews and appropriate training.
- Spot potential talent within the store and support succession planning through LEAP follow-up.
- Keep the team motivated and engaged through day-to-day leadership.
- Share commercial updates daily so the team stays informed and ready to support sales and customer service goals.
- Handle payroll processes accurately and within deadlines.
- Ensure employee relations processes are followed correctly for formal and informal meetings, sickness and absence management.
- Act as a sustainability ambassador and help the store find practical, innovative and cost-conscious ways to improve sustainability while meeting company initiatives.
Customer experience
- Set the standard for customer service across the store through visible leadership.
- Understand customer behaviour and shopper profiles well enough to improve team product knowledge and increase sales.
- Resolve customer issues and escalate to the customer service team when required.
- Take an active role in initiatives aimed at improving customer experience.
Security procedures
- Help ensure that security and cash-handling procedures are followed carefully by all store employees and that required documentation is completed and signed.
- Support the organisation of the security team and related operational procedures.
- Open and close the cash desk and assist the cash desk team when needed.
- Track cash differences and report them to line management.
- Oversee banking processes and follow up on any incidents reported by the L&P Department.
- Support change requests and monitor them through to completion.
- Assist with store security procedures to reduce stock loss and help implement action plans.
Health and safety
- Stay aware of risks to employees and customers and apply safe working practices and company procedures to reduce them.
- Maintain strong housekeeping standards throughout the store and use the HS Net app to log accidents.
Experience and qualifications
The role requires previous experience in fashion retail, along with merchandising experience in a similar environment. A qualification in fashion or textile design is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates should also have a proven history of delivering effective commercial actions.
