Job description
About the role
Rural Women New Zealand has spent nearly a century supporting, connecting, and strengthening rural people and communities. In this Membership Advisor position, you will help ensure members feel informed, included, and appreciated.
Working alongside the Membership Manager and the broader team, you will serve as a key contact for membership queries, keep member records up to date, coordinate important programmes and events, and contribute to a high-quality membership journey.
Beyond day-to-day member support, this role also offers scope to take ownership of tasks, improve processes and systems, and share ideas that help improve both the member experience and the effectiveness of the membership team.
Key responsibilities
Deliver a strong and positive experience for members.
Act as the first point of contact for membership enquiries.
Maintain accurate membership information and support related administration.
Coordinate membership programmes, activities, and events.
Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and service delivery.
Contribute practical ideas that strengthen member engagement and team outcomes.
What we are looking for
This opportunity is less about formal qualifications and more about attitude, initiative, and the ability to get things done. The organisation is seeking someone who can work independently, solve problems, and contribute positively to a purpose-driven team.
Experience in administration, customer service, membership support, or business support would be helpful, but transferable experience is also valued.
How to apply
Submit your CV and a cover letter to Kirsty McLaren by Sunday 19 July 2026.
A position description is available on the employer website, and enquiries can be made by phone at 04 499 1069.
After applications close, shortlisting may take up to two weeks, and applicants will be contacted during that period.
Additional information
This is a role with a collaborative team where initiative is encouraged and new ideas are welcomed. It offers variety, the chance to build relationships, and the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to rural communities across New Zealand.
