Job description
About Honey Homes
Honey Homes is a home membership service that helps homeowners stay on top of routine tasks, ongoing upkeep, and surprise repairs. Members are matched with a dedicated handyperson and use an app to manage everything. The company’s goal is to turn the stress of owning a home into a smoother, more comfortable experience.
The business is supported by Khosla Ventures, Era Ventures, Pear.vc, and the co-founders of DoorDash, Lyft, and Opendoor. The team includes people who have helped build and grow companies such as Airbnb, Google, Opendoor, Yelp, Zillow, and Uber.
The Opportunity
In this role, you’ll work inside members’ homes and help existing Honey Homes members get the most from their membership. Each renewal starts with an in-home Renewal Consultation, which is a key moment in the member journey. This is not a cold sales conversation. It is a chance to earn trust, evaluate the condition of the home, recognize progress already made, and help the homeowner map out what comes next.
Your goal is to make sure every member finishes the experience feeling confident that Honey Homes is the right long-term partner for their home.
What You’ll Do
Every member nearing renewal will receive an in-home consultation that lasts roughly 90 minutes. You’ll tour the home with the member, complete a thorough assessment of home health, spot maintenance needs, respond to questions, and shape a practical plan for the year ahead. You’ll also review the value the member has already received, suggest future projects, and guide them toward the membership option that best matches their needs.
In addition, you’ll take photos, record recommendations, draft scopes of work, and work with the operations team to ensure the next visit is organized properly.
Because every home and every conversation is unique, the constant focus is helping homeowners feel informed, supported, and enthusiastic about what comes next.
Why This Role Is Different
You’re building relationships rather than making cold calls. Every homeowner you meet is already a Honey Homes member, understands the service, and is welcoming you in to help them make wise decisions about their home’s care.
You become a trusted advisor for the home. This is not about transactional selling. You’ll educate homeowners, surface needs they may not have noticed, and help them protect one of their most important investments proactively.
No two days are the same. Each property has its own story, each homeowner brings a different perspective, and each visit gives you a chance to create a tailored plan that makes homeownership easier.
You’ll have meaningful ownership over one of the most important moments in the member lifecycle. Your work directly influences satisfaction, retention, and long-term success.
You’ll also help shape the future of the renewal program. Feedback you collect from the field will directly inform improvements to the experience, technology, and playbook over time.
Honey Homes is still early, so high performers may grow with the company and help shape future teams, operations, and the member experience as the business expands.
What We’re Looking For
You bring a consultative approach and enjoy helping people make careful decisions. You ask strong questions, listen closely, explain complicated topics in simple terms, and build confidence without pressure.
You are able to establish trust quickly and can enter someone’s home while helping them feel comfortable within minutes. Homeowners should naturally view you as someone dependable.
You understand the basics of how a home works. You do not need to be a licensed contractor, but you should know the fundamentals of home maintenance and enjoy helping people prioritize projects while continuing to learn.
You are highly organized. Good recommendations only matter if they are captured clearly, so you can document detailed notes, thoughtful scopes of work, photos, and next steps in a way that helps the broader team execute smoothly.
You notice details others may overlook and enjoy identifying issues before they become costly problems. Whether it is deferred maintenance, safety concerns, or future upgrades, you are always thinking ahead.
You are motivated by startups and like both building and operating. You can follow an established process while also helping improve it, and you are comfortable with ambiguity and constant iteration.
You act like an owner. You care deeply about creating an excellent member experience, take responsibility for results beyond the appointment itself, and look for ways to improve both the experience and the business.
What Success Looks Like in 12 Months
Members renew because they trust you. Your consultations consistently leave members feeling informed, cared for, and excited to continue. Renewal conversion and member satisfaction are among the strongest in the company.
Every home leaves with a clear plan. Your assessments uncover meaningful maintenance needs, help prioritize future work, and give members a thoughtful roadmap for the year ahead.
The operation works better because of your contribution. Your documentation, photos, scopes of work, and recommendations allow Scheduling, Field Operations, and Member Success to work efficiently with little rework.
Members receive more value from Honey Homes. You help homeowners fully use their membership by identifying projects early, booking future work before you leave, and making sure they understand all the ways Honey Homes can support them.
The Renewal Consultation program keeps improving. You share patterns from the field, identify recurring themes, and help refine the playbook, technology, and member experience as the company grows.
