About the Company
Until is working on a bold long-term goal: creating a biological “pause button.” In the near term, the team is focused on organ-scale reversible cryopreservation, with the aim of keeping donated organs ice-free at subzero temperatures and later warming them evenly so they can be used for transplant. The broader vision is to enable reversible cryopreservation for the whole body, opening a path for patients to wait safely for future treatments.
To get there, the company is building an interdisciplinary team around perfusion hardware, cryoprotectant chemistry, vitrification systems, and rewarming technology.
The broader mission is to ensure that transplantable organs are not lost because of logistics, and that terminal illness is no longer always final because patients may be able to bridge to future medicine.
Role Overview
This position is for an integration engineer who will help deliver advanced perfusion, cooling, and rewarming platforms. You will work across hardware and software boundaries, take ownership of deploying these systems, and collaborate closely with scientists across the organization.
What You’ll Bring
- At least 3 years of applicable engineering experience.
- Hands-on mechanical design and fabrication experience, including rapid prototyping and 3D printing.
- Ability to design electrical circuitry from protoboard-level builds through PCB implementation.
- Strong object-oriented programming skills in C++ or Python.
- Experience developing control software.
- A demonstrated history of producing exceptional engineering work.
- Interest in joining a small, fast-moving team working on an ambitious mission.
Preferred Experience
- Background with fluidic systems such as heat exchangers or perfusion circuits.
- Experience operating in a research biology environment.
