Job description
Position Overview
We are recruiting for a Member of Technical Staff in Research Engineering for a full-time remote role. The successful candidate will work remotely from any location and contribute to enhancing AI research engineering within the Micro1 platform. This involves developing scalable AI solutions and optimizing infrastructure through collaboration with diverse technical teams to build next-generation research tools.
Key Duties
- Design, prototype, and implement engineering solutions aimed at improving AI model scalability and performance.
- Enhance existing research workflows to boost computational effectiveness and minimize latency in distributed systems.
- Partner with data scientists and engineers to translate research outcomes into production-ready systems.
- Perform benchmarking and analyze system performance to guide architectural improvements.
- Maintain thorough documentation of research methods, experiments, and technical details for internal use.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Expertise in Python, C++, or Rust for high-performance computing and algorithm development.
- Experience utilizing distributed computing frameworks such as Apache Spark, Dask, or Ray.
- Strong understanding of machine learning systems focusing on model optimization and accelerating inference.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, and container orchestration tools including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Solid foundation in linear algebra, optimization methods, and numerical computing libraries, including NumPy and SciPy.
- Capability to produce clean, maintainable, and well-documented source code suitable for both research and production environments.
- Proficient use of version control (Git) and collaborative development practices.
- Good grasp of data structures, algorithms, and computational complexity for designing scalable systems.
