Role overview
This is a full-time remote opportunity for a Member of Technical Staff focused on research engineering. The position supports a client project centered on strengthening AI research systems, improving infrastructure, and building scalable technical solutions within the Micro1 platform.
What you'll do
- Develop, test, and ship research engineering approaches that improve the performance and scale of AI models.
- Refine existing research workflows to make computation more efficient and lower latency in distributed environments.
- Work closely with data science and engineering stakeholders to move research insights into production-ready systems.
- Measure system performance, identify bottlenecks, and use benchmarking results to guide design and architecture choices.
- Prepare clear documentation covering research methods, experiment outcomes, and technical details for internal teams.
Skills and qualifications
- Strong coding ability in Python, C++, or Rust for high-performance computing and algorithm work.
- Hands-on experience with distributed processing tools such as Apache Spark, Dask, or Ray.
- Solid understanding of machine learning systems, including model tuning and faster inference techniques.
- Working knowledge of cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, along with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Comfort with linear algebra, optimization methods, and numerical libraries like NumPy and SciPy.
- Ability to produce clean, maintainable, well-documented code for both research and production use.
- Experience using Git and collaborating through standard software development workflows.
- Good grasp of data structures, algorithms, and computational complexity for scalable system design.
Additional information
The compensation range for this role is USD 220,000 to 500,000 per year. The position is offered on a full-time basis and can be performed from anywhere, with no location restriction. This opportunity is with a client in the Information Services space and is geared toward building AI-driven research platforms in a distributed technical environment.
