Member of Technical Staff, Finance Research

Role Overview

This is a full-time remote role focused on finance research for AI systems. The position centers on building evaluation methods, research assets, and analytical insights that improve how AI agents perform in financial settings.

Compensation

The annual pay range for this role is $350K to $500K.

Responsibilities

• Create and refine evaluation systems for AI agents used in finance, including benchmark sets and scoring approaches.
• Carry out original studies on financial reasoning and decision-making, then convert the findings into measurable gains in AI performance.
• Build, select, and maintain datasets and benchmark environments that mirror practical finance challenges in enterprise settings.
• Work closely with research and engineering teams to assess and improve finance-oriented models and agentic systems.
• Study model outputs and performance patterns to produce useful insights and help shape research direction.
• Share research outcomes and recommended practices that deepen understanding of AI capabilities in finance.

Requirements

• An advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering, or a closely related discipline is expected; a PhD is preferred.
• Strong subject-matter knowledge in areas such as investment research, capital markets, or risk management is needed.
• Prior experience performing high-quality research and building analytical methods in finance is required.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability is important, along with strong critical thinking.
• Clear written and spoken communication skills are necessary, including experience preparing research reports.
