Role overview

Dalata Hotel Group is looking for a Meetings & Events Executive to join its hotel team in Dublin. This is a strong opportunity to build a career in hospitality, with access to learning resources through Dalata Academy, support from experienced senior colleagues, and scope for progression through internal promotion.

Reporting to the Meetings & Events Sales Manager, the main aim of the role is to grow meeting room sales and help the hotel meet its sales budget. The position sits in a supportive environment where development, customer care, and commercial performance all matter.

What you will do

  • Manage enquiries for meetings and events received by phone, email, and web channels.
  • Prepare enquiry paperwork, issue quotations, and follow through with contracts for each business opportunity.
  • Handle sales documents carefully, including contracts, quotations, confirmations, and cancellations, while keeping records organised and ensuring follow-up happens on time.
  • Support client needs across meeting room and event accounts.
  • Record meeting room charges and provide receipts to customers.
  • Keep an eye on competitor meeting room products and pricing.
  • Carry out weekly telesales activity to generate new business.
  • Maintain databases so information stays current and accurate.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly updates covering account results and general activity.
  • Serve as the health and safety representative for the sales office during monthly meetings.

What you need

  • A strong level of organisation and a sharp eye for detail.
  • Experience using the Opera system is helpful, though not required.
  • About 1 year of previous experience in event sales or event coordination in a hotel or venue is an advantage, but not essential.
  • Background in hospitality is useful, but not mandatory.
  • Experience dealing directly with customers.
  • Very good spoken and written English.
  • Confidence in spotting sales opportunities and acting on them to help secure hotel revenue.
  • Good selling ability and strong interpersonal skills.
