Role Summary

RxDiet is hiring a practical, hands-on billing leader to serve as its first dedicated Medical/Healthcare Claims Billing Manager. In this role, you will own the billing function as the company grows, overseeing accurate and timely claim submission to Medicaid, Medicare, and other payers; tracking claim progress; addressing denials and rejections; and maintaining compliance with payer-specific rules. You will also create the billing infrastructure from the ground up by developing processes, documentation, and best practices, then hiring, training, and managing billing team members as the operation expands.

This is a full-time remote role based in the United States. Candidates must currently live in the United States, and sponsorship is not available for this position.

What You’ll Handle

• Submit healthcare claims accurately and on time to Medicaid, Medicare, and additional payers.
• Monitor claim status and follow up on outstanding items.
• Investigate and resolve denials, rejections, and payment shortfalls.
• Ensure billing activity aligns with payer-specific requirements and compliance standards.
• Build billing workflows, documentation, and operating procedures from scratch.
• Help scale the function by hiring, onboarding, training, and managing billing staff.
• Improve clean claim rates and support a strong revenue cycle foundation.

Candidate Profile

• At least 5 years of experience in healthcare claims billing.
• Minimum 3 years of experience leading or managing a billing team.
• Hands-on experience handling Medicaid and Medicare claim submission and follow-up.
• Working knowledge of claims systems, clearinghouses, and payer portals.
• Familiarity with CMS, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding and related billing rules.
• Experience working through denials, rejections, and underpayments.
• Strong track record of hiring, training, coaching, and managing staff.
• Comfortable using Excel or Google Sheets.
• Highly organized, detail-focused, and effective at managing time.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-directed, adaptable, and comfortable building processes and teams in a startup environment.
• Interest in food-as-medicine, startups, and community health.
