About the Role
Red Nucleus is looking for a Medical Writer to become part of its global medical communications team. This position is Canada-based and supports work across scientific and pharmaceutical communication projects.

What You’ll Do
You will research, write, and edit a range of medical communications materials, including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, slide presentations, and related deliverables. The role involves contributing to client work that is highly visible and centered on pharmaceutical products and technologies in the medical field.
You will work with internal teams in both onsite and remote settings, manage deliverables against deadlines, and help ensure scientific content is accurate, well structured, and aligned with publication standards.
Additional Responsibilities and Working Practices
- Use current AMA style confidently in writing and editing work.
- Assess scientific data and information for accuracy across different biological topics.
- Communicate clearly with teammates to keep content development moving smoothly.
- Meet project timelines and understand the broader publication development workflow.
- Collaborate effectively in a mixed in-person and virtual team environment.
- Know when to seek guidance from a supervisor or senior team member.
- Understand key elements of preclinical and clinical drug development.
- Create well-written communications across multiple publication formats.
- Save all draft and final versions in the team file system using standardized naming conventions.
- Review study data and translate it into detailed, polished deliverables.
- Demonstrate familiarity with good publication practices.
- Work respectfully and productively with internal colleagues.
Requirements
- Advanced degree such as an MD, PhD in the life sciences, or PharmD.
- Previous experience producing peer-reviewed publications, congress abstracts, posters, and slide decks.
- Ability to independently draft and edit scientific manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and training content.
- Strong verbal communication skills and comfort collaborating in a virtual environment.
- Excellent organization and time management, with the ability to deliver on deadlines.
- Working knowledge of AMA writing style.
- Detail-oriented mindset and collaborative team approach.
Compensation
The targeted salary range for this role is CAD 85,901 to CAD 95,000. Final compensation will depend on the candidate’s skills, competencies, experience, and qualifications, with future movement within the range based on performance, tenure, and internal equity.
