Job Overview
This role requires nurses with professional experience in Western Europe, USA, South Africa, or Australia, along with fluency in written and spoken English. The nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care following the Nursing Process with a focus on direct patient interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a broad spectrum of high-quality nursing care under the supervision of the Head Nurse or Duty Manager.
- Work in various clinical settings including general and critical care units, operating room, labor and delivery, emergency rooms, and clinics at Medcare Hospital.
- Perform duties across any assigned shifts, which may include on-call hours.
- Conduct systematic initial and continuous physical and psychosocial assessments tailored to the patient's age group.
- Identify and evaluate patient or family educational needs as well as readiness to learn, using appropriate educational resources.
- Assess discharge planning requirements for patients and their families with the help of relevant resources.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to create and update individualized care plans aligned with medical diagnoses and evolving patient needs.
- Set realistic, measurable, and culturally sensitive goals, and determine necessary nursing actions to achieve them.
- Organize and plan daily patient care activities effectively.
- Adhere rigorously to established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Recognize when patient requirements exceed personal capabilities and escalate to appropriate resources.
- Contribute to the development and review of patient care standards, policies, and participate in quality assessment and improvement initiatives.
- Take responsibility for ongoing professional development and stay current with nursing practices relevant to the specialty.
- Utilize computer technology as needed in the performance of duties.
- Maintain strict infection control and safety measures, taking corrective action when necessary.
- Engage in fire and disaster preparedness drills and emergency response simulations.
- Show compassion, acceptance, and empathy towards patients and their families.
