Role Overview
Join a Tribal health care organization serving nearly 30,000 residents across rural southwest Alaska. The team supports communities throughout the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta, with Bethel acting as the regional hub and home to the area's only hospital. This position is part of a mission-driven environment focused on improving health outcomes across the region.
What You'll Do
This role focuses on handling scheduling calls for outpatient services, managing appointment changes, and directing callers to the appropriate department or staff member in a courteous and professional way. The position also provides administrative support to the Case Management Team as needed.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Prior experience working with the public is preferred, along with previous switchboard experience and familiarity with medical terminology.
No license, certification, or registration is required.
Skills and Tools
The job calls for comfort using a computer, multiline telephone system, and standard office equipment such as copiers, printers, and scanners. Candidates should be able to explain medical information in simple, patient-friendly language and communicate clearly in English, both spoken and written. Knowledge of Yup'ik is preferred.
Compensation and Job Details
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with 40 hours per week. The minimum hourly pay listed is 23.37, and the role comes with a $2,000 sign-on bonus.
