Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated and dedicated individual to deliver comprehensive secretarial, organizational, and administrative assistance within our Maxillofacial Department, supporting Head and Neck Oncology Surgeons.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide full secretarial and administrative support to the Maxillofacial Department.
- Collaborate flexibly and sensitively with various disciplines within Queen Victoria Hospital and other associated sites.
- Handle confidential and sensitive communications, both written and verbal, involving patients, relatives, staff, and external parties.
- Oversee and manage patient pathways to ensure adherence to Oncology and Referral to Treatment (RTT) targets; promptly escalate any issues.
- Communicate with empathy and sensitivity to patients dealing with serious illnesses.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Background in medical secretarial work with excellent proficiency in computer use including fast and accurate audio typing.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills capable of effective interaction at all levels.
- Attention to detail combined with excellent time management skills to handle tight deadlines.
- Capability to prioritize workload efficiently under pressure while contributing as part of a supportive and busy team.
