Sobi is a global biopharmaceutical company dedicated to developing innovative therapies for rare diseases. Our mission is to improve patients' lives, particularly those affected by ultra-rare conditions. We value diversity, inclusion, and professional growth, and provide competitive compensation alongside a supportive work-life balance.
Role Overview
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a scientific expert working in the field to engage healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders within the Severe Hypertriglyceridemia (sHTG) community. Focusing on Tryngolza, a novel therapy for Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome (FCS) with potential in sHTG, the MSL supports the medical strategy through scientific exchange, evidence generation, and stakeholder engagement in various cities across Germany including Munich and others.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary medical and scientific contact for Tryngolza across the sHTG patient and healthcare professional community.
- Establish and nurture trusted relationships with KOLs, healthcare providers, and academic researchers.
- Lead non-promotional scientific discussions covering disease mechanisms, clinical data, patient management, and emerging research using approved materials.
- Create and maintain detailed stakeholder engagement plans aligned with Medical Excellence standards.
- Collect and communicate actionable insights from medical interactions and scientific meetings to shape strategy and clinical programs.
- Identify unmet needs and gaps in diagnosis and treatment access to inform medical priorities.
- Provide medical education and scientific support to healthcare providers, internal teams, and at expert meetings or congresses.
- Support clinical research initiatives including late-phase studies, investigator-initiated trials, registries, and real-world evidence projects by collaborating with investigators and study sites.
- Ensure compliance with internal governance, SOPs, and external regulations in all field medical activities.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree in life sciences (PharmD, PhD, MD, MSc or equivalent).
- Previous experience as an MSL or in a comparable medical field role is preferred.
- Background in specialty care, metabolic disorders, or complex scientific therapy areas is advantageous.
- Proven ability to engage healthcare professionals and key external stakeholders effectively.
- Strong scientific acumen with excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to build credibility and establish trust with clinical and scientific audiences.
- Exceptional analytical skills and capacity to generate insightful medical intelligence.
- Self-driven with excellent organizational abilities to work independently in field settings.
- Collaborative mindset with cross-functional internal teams.
- High ethical standards and commitment to unbiased, compliant scientific exchange.
- Willingness to travel for meetings, site visits, and educational events.
- Proficiency in English.
