Job Overview
The Medical Records Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the precise creation, upkeep, handling, storage, retrieval, and archival of patient health records. This role guarantees the integrity, confidentiality, accessibility, and quality of health data in line with Mediclinic Middle East's policies, regulatory demands, and healthcare accreditation standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the quality of electronic health information and medical records.
- Adhere to information governance principles mandated by regulators and the organization.
- Ensure compliance with health information documentation standards.
- Lead and manage the medical records department team.
- Provide health information statistics to the Corporate Office; progressing towards analytics as a future responsibility.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a first degree in Health Information Management or Medical Records Management, or accreditation from the American Health Information Management Association.
- Have 3 to 5 years of essential experience in Medical Records or Health Information Management.
- Preferably, 1 to 2 years' experience managing Electronic Health Records, emphasizing electronic health management.
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Expertise in clinical coding.
- Familiarity with electronic health records management systems.
- Competence in information technology.
- Ability to build effective professional relationships.
- Capacity for statistical analysis.
- Proficiency in verbal and written English communication.
