The company concentrates on creating tailored healthcare solutions, keeping service quality high, and helping control costs without sacrificing patient care. With more than 30 years in the industry, it has developed a strong reputation for dependable, professional, and innovative healthcare support.
About the role
Hines & Associates Inc. is hiring a detail-focused Medical Data Entry / Medical Administrative Assistant for its Dubuque location. This is a full-time role for someone interested in healthcare administration and data handling. The position centers on accurate medical record entry, administrative support, and helping ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly. Training will be provided, so candidates with strong motivation and a service-oriented mindset are welcome even without prior experience in medical terminology or healthcare administration.
Qualifications
The company is looking for candidates with a high school diploma or GED. Medical terminology knowledge is preferred but not required because training will be provided. Applicants should be able to work effectively in a busy environment, manage several tasks at once, and maintain a high level of accuracy. Strong computer skills, good keyboarding ability, and a typing speed of at least 40 words per minute are preferred. Experience in data entry or administrative work in a healthcare setting is helpful, though not mandatory. Reliability, discretion, and a willingness to learn are important.
Responsibilities
The role involves entering and maintaining patient information in electronic health record systems, checking records for completeness and accuracy, and assisting with day-to-day administrative work such as scheduling, filing, and correspondence. The assistant will also help providers with documentation and data lookup, support billing and coding tasks, prepare reports, and respond to patient questions related to records and administrative processes. During training, the role is fully on-site; after training is completed, the schedule moves to a hybrid setup with remote work two days each week.
Benefits
The position offers a competitive pay rate of $16 per hour along with a benefits package designed to support health, financial security, and work-life balance. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage; short-term and long-term disability insurance; company-paid and optional life insurance; critical illness and accident coverage; flexible spending accounts for healthcare and dependent care; and a 401(k) plan with company match that becomes fully vested after one year. Employees also receive paid holidays and weekends off. The workplace is described as supportive, inclusive, and focused on employee growth.
Equal opportunity
Hines & Associates Inc. provides equal employment opportunity to all qualified applicants. Hiring decisions are made without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, sex, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected status. The company values a diverse workforce and encourages candidates from all backgrounds to apply.
