Medical Courier

Role Overview

This position is for a Medical Courier based in Barboursville, West Virginia, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 3:30 PM to 1:00 AM. The role supports the movement of healthcare materials that help diagnostics reach patients safely and on time. It is a mobile, route-based job for someone who is dependable, service-oriented, and comfortable spending much of the day on the road.

Compensation

The pay starts at $17.75 per hour. An employee may also qualify for a 10% shift differential for some or all hours worked on second shift and a 15% shift differential for some or all hours worked on third shift. Shift differential details will be shared if an offer is made.

Base pay is determined by factors such as relevant skills, training, experience, education, and any applicable certifications, along with market and organizational considerations. Eligible hires may also receive an annual performance bonus.

What You Will Do

• Collect, move, and deliver medical specimens and laboratory materials along a planned route.
• Coordinate professionally with physicians, nurses, and lab personnel to keep deliveries on schedule.
• Operate a company-supplied non-CDL vehicle safely and responsibly.
• Use scanners, route management tools, and mobile applications to record and monitor deliveries.
• Handle specimens correctly, including labeling, storage, and required documentation.
• Follow DOT, HIPAA, OSHA, and internal safety requirements at all times.

What We Need From You

• A valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving experience.
• A Motor Vehicle Record showing no more than two moving violation convictions in the previous 36 months, with none in the most recent 12 months.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Careful attention to detail and accurate record-keeping habits.
• The ability to work on your own and solve problems while on route.
• Comfort using mobile devices and scanning equipment.
• The ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and stay active for much of the shift.
• Previous experience in medical, customer service, courier, or logistics work is preferred.
