Role overview
Candid Health is hiring a Medical Biller in the United States for a full-time onsite position. This role focuses on managing claims follow-up, resolving payer issues, and keeping billing and accounts receivable records accurate and up to date.
What you will do
- Reach out to insurance payers to check claim status, work through denials, and follow up on partial reimbursements.
- Gather payer-specific requirements so claims can be processed and adjudicated without avoidable delays.
- Submit claims with the correct supporting documents attached.
- Track, communicate, and help manage updates to coverage rules and billing guidelines for internal teams and customers.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail, letters, and other correspondence as assigned.
- Review insurance correspondence and use it to reconcile, correct, and refresh accounts receivable records.
- Support the identification and communication of recurring denial patterns and billing errors.
- Start and manage the appeals and dispute-review process for claims that are contested.
- Work closely with the Strategy & Operations team on customer accounts and claim-related trends.
- Follow HIPAA requirements at all times.
What we’re looking for
The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of experience in revenue cycle management, either in medical billing or in a healthcare/healthtech environment. You should understand CPT and ICD-10 coding, be comfortable investigating issues and using data to recommend next steps, and be able to work independently. Strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to juggle multiple tasks, and a collaborative, positive approach across all levels of the organization are also important.
Compensation
The estimated starting pay is $20 to $27 per hour. This range is based on Pave data and may change depending on skills, experience, interview performance, and market conditions.
Additional information
This position emphasizes accuracy, initiative, and a practical approach to quality. The role expects someone who can maintain high standards while also making sensible tradeoffs when needed.
