Role Overview
OSIS is hiring a meticulous Medical Biller to support its Revenue Cycle function. This remote opportunity is well suited to someone who works confidently with data and payer details, and who wants to contribute to organizations serving community health needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle payment posting across several FQHC and CHC organizations.
- Record patient and insurance payments accurately and without delay.
- Match and reconcile deposits, remittance advice, and electronic payment files.
- Manage recurring billing tasks on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Look into payer rules and keep current on billing and coding standards.
- Support accounts receivable follow-up, billing questions, and customer service needs.
- Use payer portals, government sites, and clearinghouses to complete billing activities.
- Provide responsive, high-quality service to member organizations.
- Work with internal OSIS teams to solve problems and refine processes.
- Join training sessions and stay informed about billing and regulatory changes.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in medical billing.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with NextGen.
- Experience working with clearinghouses and healthcare portals.
- Working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
- Strong accuracy and written/verbal communication abilities.
- A service-focused approach when supporting customers and member organizations.
Preferred Background
- Previous billing experience in an FQHC setting.
- Experience in dental or behavioral health billing.
- Exposure to NextGen EPM, EDR, or Optical.
- Comfort using Microsoft Excel.
Certification and Work Setup
- Must already hold NextGen Certified Professional (NCP) status or earn it within 6 months after joining.
- The position is fully remote.
- Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET.
- Travel is limited but may be required for 5 to 10 days per year.
Technical Requirements
- Cable or fiber internet is required.
- Internet speed must be at least 20 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
Compensation
The pay range for this role is $17.00 to $26.00 per hour.
