Employment Details

  • Contract Duration: 12 months fixed term
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
  • Location: London, UK
  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid with minimum three days onsite weekly
  • Salary: £31,050 per annum plus holidays, sick pay, and pension benefits

Role Purpose

The Medical Affairs Graduate will significantly support the medical team focused on the Cardiovascular Therapeutic Area (TA).

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the cardiovascular disease area, medical affairs activities, healthcare systems, and compliance with the ABPI code.
  • Assist in executing the Medical Affairs Plan, which involves advisory boards, medical education meetings, data generation initiatives, and ensuring excellence at congresses alongside field and head office teams.
  • Work collaboratively with the Medical Affairs team to review non-promotional scientific content, maintaining accuracy and integrity.
  • Partner with colleagues from Commercial, Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, and Clinical Development to support cohesive implementation of medical strategies.
  • Support the execution of medical plans by managing medical educational materials within internal approval systems.
  • Create timely, quality briefing materials and training content on pertinent data; deliver internal training sessions as required.
  • Provide administrative support including project budget management, purchase orders, contracts coordination with third-party vendors and healthcare professionals, organizing meetings, and managing logistics.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Graduated within the past two years from a UK university with a degree in Life Sciences, Medicine, or Pharmacy (including pre-registration exams).
  • Strong interest and motivation to build a career within medical affairs.
  • Prior exposure to UK healthcare or pharmaceutical sectors is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Transferable skills such as effective time management, teamwork, and attention to detail demonstrated through academic, professional, or extracurricular activities.
  • Ability to prioritize efficiently, handle various tasks simultaneously, and maintain accuracy under deadlines.
  • Collaborative and trustworthy, capable of engaging effectively with stakeholders across all levels and backgrounds.
  • Customer-centric focus delivering high-quality outcomes to internal and external parties.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
