More Perfect Union is hiring a Media Producer to join its remote team. This is a salaried, full-time position reporting to the Supervising Producer. The annual compensation is $85,000.

What you’ll do
The Media Producer will collaborate with video, creative, policy, political, and communications colleagues to develop, research, script, and host news-focused YouTube videos centered on advancing policy change. The role also includes breaking-news coverage, follow-up reporting, and creating social media updates tied to the stories being covered.
Key responsibilities
- Develop video concepts, identify suitable on-camera talent, interview sources, write scripts, and review edits with editors.
- Appear on camera as a host or narrator for desk reads and location-based shoots when needed.
- Regularly pitch story ideas and coverage angles that support news and advocacy goals.
- Carry out reporting tasks such as requesting public comment, conducting interviews, and filing FOIAs to move stories forward.
- Track major news developments, hearings, and press events to spot relevant and newsworthy moments.
- Write scripts, articles, tweets, and other social content to support videos and breaking stories.
- Work closely with video teammates in meetings to shape scripts, conduct interviews, and strengthen creative output.
- Stay current on social platforms and effective publishing practices.
- Spot workflow issues early and help build practical solutions with the team.
- Keep to publishing timelines, complete assigned work, and meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
- Take on additional duties as assigned by supervisors or colleagues.
