Role Overview

We are seeking a Media Monitoring Lead to join our team focused on Goa's region, responsible for real-time tracking of news cycles, political narratives, and public sentiment to keep the campaign team updated with reliable intelligence for electoral engagements. Initially remote, this contract role runs until March 2027, with the possibility of relocation to Panaji and travel across Goa for field assignments.

Key Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor political news, social trends, opposition activities, and public opinion in real time.
• Identify and communicate crucial political developments promptly and accurately.
• Follow local issues, opposition statements, and ongoing political updates to provide inputs for content and strategy.
• Track content across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (X), YouTube, WhatsApp groups, and news portals.
• Compose speech and talking points along with media coverage summaries.
• Create daily and periodic summaries, dashboards, and situational reports.
• Collaborate with teams handling content, video, design, social media, and campaign management.
• Highlight risks, urgent response needs, and emerging narratives to the team.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, punctuality, and confidentiality for all reports and records.
• Provide support for real-time media monitoring during rallies, press conferences, public events, and election activities.

Essential Qualifications and Competencies

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from a recognized university.
• Deep understanding of Goa’s political environment, current affairs, and local matters.
• Fluent Konkani language skills (reading, writing, speaking) to comprehend local discussions and media.
• Exceptional analytical, research, and observational abilities.
• Strong capability in structured writing, summarization, and reporting.
• Familiarity with social media platforms, digital trends, and online engagement patterns.
• Proficiency in Google Docs, Sheets, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment requiring timely information delivery.
• Residency or readiness to work in Goa, with flexible availability during campaign period events.
• Knowledge of Marathi, English, or Hindi is advantageous.

Preferred Experience

• Media monitoring, political campaign coordination, journalism, public relations, social media management, or research background.
• Ability to translate or summarize regional language content for strategic use.
• Strong interpersonal aptitude to interact with diverse stakeholders.
• Adaptability to flexible working hours during campaigns and evolving news situations.
• Dependability, discipline, and strong attention to detail.

Additional Information

• Prior experience in political campaign monitoring, news tracking, PR, social media, political research, or digital media reporting is highly regarded.
• The contract is short-term, concluding in March 2027.
• Work will begin remotely but will require eventual presence in the Panaji office and field activities across Goa.
