  • Maintain cleanliness, proper inspection, and organization of parts aligned with task requirements.
  • Demonstrate adaptability to meet deadlines, actively anticipate obstacles, and suggest solutions to management.
  • Assist team members with daily operational tasks as needed.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned to support shipyard functions.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Possession of Red Seal Trade Certification 430M is advantageous.
  • At least 2 years of practical mechanical fitting experience in construction or maintenance environments.
  • Knowledge of rigging safety including chain falls and sling inspections and safe handling of heavy parts.
  • Understanding crane signaling and related terms is beneficial.
  • Welding and oxy/acetylene cutting skills are assets.
  • Experience in ship repair is considered a plus.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
  • Physical fitness to manage demanding physical tasks and willingness to work through seasonal weather variations.
