About the Company and Role
Mackenzie Engineering is a distinguished exporter of electro-mechanical products from the USA to the Middle-East, headquartered in Bangalore, Karnataka. This position is based exclusively at their Bangalore office.
Job Overview
We seek a Mechanical Engineer possessing solid technical knowledge and practical experience in instrumentation or mechanical engineering fields. The candidate will engage in complete technical and commercial procurement cycles, handling vendor coordination internationally and managing project deadlines under demanding conditions. Fluency in English communication is mandatory for effective collaboration with global vendors, clients, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and issue Request for Quotations (RFQs) focused on industrial equipment including field instruments, transmitters, control systems, valves, actuators, pumps, motors, HVAC systems, among others.
- Liaise with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), suppliers, and EPC contractors to obtain and verify technical submittals, datasheets, drawings, manuals, Non-Material Requirements (NMR), and Spare Parts Data Packages (SPDP).
- Conduct detailed technical bid analysis and commercial comparisons ensuring adherence to project specifications.
- Ensure conformity with international standards such as API, ASME, IEC, IEEE, BIS, and ATEX.
- Lead vendor negotiations around pricing, delivery schedules, and commercial terms with global suppliers.
- Compile comprehensive techno-commercial proposals for clients and maintain strict follow-ups to reliably meet project timelines and commitments.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, project management, and sales departments to streamline procurement processes.
Working Schedule
The working hours are from 3 PM to 12 midnight.

Additional Details and Conditions

Preferred Candidate Profile
- B.E. or B.Tech degree holders in fields such as Instrumentation, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering.
- Two to five years of relevant work experience specifically in industrial procurement, engineering procurement, or within EPC/OEM and industrial trading environments.
- Industry backgrounds such as Oil & Gas (upstream, midstream, downstream), Petrochemical and Refinery projects, Power Plants (thermal, renewable, utilities), Transportation & Infrastructure, or Telecommunications and Industrial Automation are highly valued.
- Practical experience in erection, commissioning, or site execution is a significant advantage.
- Previous interaction with international clients and suppliers, preferably from the USA or Europe, is beneficial.
Technical Expertise
- Comprehensive understanding of industrial equipment including instrumentation and automation systems, electrical panels, switchgear, MCC, control valves and actuators, flow meters, pressure and temperature transmitters, pumps, motors, and compressors.
- Familiarity with key international standards such as API, ASME, IEC, IEEE, and ISO along with Hazardous Area Classification and HAZOP procedures.
- Exposure to OEM brands like Emerson, ABB, Siemens, Schneider, Honeywell, Flowserve, Fisher, Auma, Bray, Klinger, Moog, Rosemount, Yokogawa, KSB, L&T, Audco, Apollo, Parker, Rockwell, Caterpillar, Cummins.
- Proficiency using MS Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat, and effective communication through email and internet vendor platforms.
Competencies and Skills
- Strong capabilities in industrial procurement and supply chain management.
- Skilled at techno-commercial bid evaluation and vendor development and negotiations.
- Experience in managing global sourcing and coordinating with OEMs.
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills and precise documentation practices.
