About the Role
Sthenos Fitness Equipment is seeking a practical and hands-on Mechanical Drafter & Production Assistant to join our manufacturing team located at Ambattur Industrial Estate, Chennai. This full-time, on-site position involves bridging the gap between equipment design and physical fabrication, directly supporting production processes related to gym equipment such as frames, pulley systems, benches, and weight stacks.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop precise 3D models and 2D fabrication drawings using SolidWorks tailored for our gym equipment manufacturing.
- Communicate technical details directly to welders and fitters on the shop floor, ensuring correct dimensions, cuts, and alignment.
- Oversee daily production activities to ensure adherence to design specifications and smooth workflow in the workshop.
- Collaborate closely with fitters to address and resolve on-the-spot challenges related to assembly or alignment during fabrication.
- Perform quality checks of completed components and welded assemblies against CAD documentation before painting or final assembly stages.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated expertise in using SolidWorks to produce manufacturing-ready drawings is essential.
- Familiarity with steel tube structures, sheet metal, welding techniques, and basic mechanical hardware such as bearings, bolts, and pulleys.
- Effective communication skills for clear coordination with workshop staff and manual laborers.
- Ability and willingness to work in a dynamic, noisy, and fast-paced fabrication workshop environment rather than a conventional desk setting.
- Preferred experience of 1 to 2 years; however, highly skilled fresh graduates with excellent SolidWorks capabilities will also be considered.
- A formal four-year engineering degree is not mandatory; practical skills and hands-on knowledge hold priority.
Compensation and Work Conditions
The monthly salary ranges between ₹20,000 to ₹25,000 depending on the candidate's experience level. The role is strictly on-site at our Ambattur facility in Chennai and is a full-time engagement.
