Mechanical Design Engineer

Role Overview

This role involves developing and sustaining 3D SolidWorks models ranging from conceptual stages to detailed design (up to LOD 450 level) specifically for containerized power generation equipment. The engineer will be responsible for the complete package layout design and its integration while adhering strictly to customer requirements, equipment manufacturer standards, and applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain detailed 3D SolidWorks models of power generation systems.
• Design full package layouts ensuring integration and compliance with technical and regulatory specifications.
• Prepare assembly and fabrication drawings along with comprehensive bills of materials.
• Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team including mechanical, electrical, piping, and structural disciplines.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proficient expert user of SolidWorks software.
• Proven experience at a senior design engineering level.
• Prior involvement in designing generator packages, complex machinery, power generation equipment, or containerized industrial systems.
• Knowledge and experience in applying Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) principles for mass production.

Additional Information

Duration: 3 to 6 months on a rolling basis.

Location: Carlow, County Carlow, Ireland.
