About the Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in electric vehicle bikes based in Bengaluru. This is a six-month contractual position requiring 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience and a degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E./B.Tech).
Key Responsibilities
- Design mechanical cabinets, electrical parts, component assemblies, and manage harness routing using Siemens NX or SolidWorks software.
- Create 3D models and comprehensive engineering drawings, applying advanced knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Perform critical engineering analyses including calculations, tolerance stack-ups, material choices, and validation of designs.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams such as manufacturing, quality assurance, sourcing, and project management to facilitate product development and ensure production readiness.
- Execute Design and Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA and PFMEA), analyses for design for excellence (DFx), and root cause analysis (RCA) with corrective action implementation.
- Prepare Bills of Materials (BOM), technical documents, and detailed engineering reports supporting product lifecycle stages.
- Support prototype creation, testing, validation, and manage product lifecycle activities ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and manufacturing standards.
Qualifications and Skills
- B.E. or B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficiency in Siemens NX and SolidWorks for CAD modeling.
- Strong experience in product design and harness routing.
- Excellent understanding of GD&T standards.
- Knowledge of DFMEA/PFMEA and design for manufacturing and assembly principles.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and material engineering.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and BOM preparation.
- Strong technical documentation skills.
- Preference will be given to candidates available for immediate joining.
Compensation and Benefits
- Monthly salary ranging from 25,000 to 30,000 INR (in-hand).
- Provident Fund (PF) contributions.
- Additional incentives beyond base salary.
