Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper zoning of the meat department to guarantee it is always ready for customers.
• Regularly rotate inventory and remove any expired or unsellable products to uphold product quality.
• Ensure accurate pricing and proper signage for all merchandise by following designated procedures for orders, markups, markdowns, labeling, and flagging.
• Adhere strictly to food safety and cold chain protocols, including performing temperature verifications, calibrating thermometers, handling food correctly, and monitoring sell-by and expiration dates.
• Prepare and serve deli items like meat, cheeses, and fried chicken, utilizing tools such as slicers, stackers, rotisserie ovens, and deep fryers safely to fulfill customer orders and stock display cases.
• Comply with all health and safety policies to maintain a secure, clean, and hygienic workplace.
• Demonstrate flexibility in working various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business demands and ensure consistent customer service.

Challenges in the Role

• Manage high volumes of tasks in a fast-paced environment, including overnight shifts, while maintaining focus and energy.
• Efficiently complete large restocking and recovery jobs with accuracy and timeliness.
• Perform physically demanding duties such as standing for long periods, bending, and lifting items weighing up to 20 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Complete repetitive stocking, zoning, and product organizing tasks with attention to detail to preserve store standards.

Compensation

The minimum hourly wage for this position starts at $18.70.
