Programme Overview
This is a 24-month development programme within Marina Bay Sands’ Food & Beverage operations. It is designed as an immersive learning path that combines hands-on service experience, operational know-how, creativity, and leadership growth. Participants will work in a luxury hospitality environment and contribute to memorable dining experiences while building the skills needed for future leadership responsibilities. Successful completion of the programme, together with a positive performance review, may lead to placement in a junior leadership position.
Foundation Phase
The first stage focuses on mastering hospitality basics and understanding what excellent guest service looks like in practice. You will build strong service habits, learn how to create welcoming experiences, and develop confidence in interacting with guests.
- Greet guests in a warm and professional manner, handle reservations, and address requests quickly.
- Use personalization techniques such as remembering guest names, noting celebrations, and maintaining guest profiles for future visits.
- Learn core service procedures, including seating arrangements, rotation planning, and maintaining smooth dining operations.
- Develop a confident professional presence and strengthen communication skills in a hospitality setting.
Skill Development Phase
As you progress, the programme shifts toward more advanced operational and service skills. This phase builds accuracy, adaptability, and the ability to create refined guest experiences while contributing to business results.
- Improve table preparation, presentation standards, and the proper use of operating equipment.
- Strengthen service delivery by anticipating guest expectations, handling concerns tactfully, and keeping service flow efficient.
- Take initial responsibility for supporting and supervising service teams to maintain consistency and quality.
- Use upselling methods to support revenue objectives and departmental targets.
- Blend technical precision with thoughtful, personalized touches to elevate the guest experience.
Service Excellence and Supervisory Phase
This stage introduces leadership exposure and broader operational responsibility. The focus is on guiding teams, protecting service standards, and ensuring every detail aligns with the expectations of a premium hospitality environment.
- Lead and motivate Captains, Service Attendants, and Hosts to deliver high service standards.
- Coordinate staffing levels, review reservations, and manage special guest requests to ensure seamless execution.
- Conduct pre-shift briefings, track service performance, and encourage ongoing improvement.
- Take ownership of guest issue resolution and ensure all service details reflect a commitment to excellence.
- Support training and development efforts while encouraging teamwork and recognition within the team.
